Good Burmeses finish first, RIP Ko Nay Win Maung!

While fake doctors are flaunting their fake or self-conferred PhDs,
a good Burmese passed away. It is a loss for our country.

RIP Ko Nay Win Maung. Good guys died prematurely in Burma.
You have earned my respects although we did not have a chance
to meet in person. Salutes to you. My heart felt sorrow is for you.

Happy New Year and Free Advices for Fake Drs!

For "All But Dissertation(ABD)" , ex-PhD student who
still has not submitted a PhD thesis, like Mr. Maung Zar
Ni, he should follow the following free advices, IMHO.
I assume he did not buy a fake degree, but he fails to
finish his PhD dissertation and I assume he is an ABD.
For him, new year present is ABD survival link below:
http://www.abdsurvivalguide.com/archives/nov2608.htm

For those who has or had bought PhDs from diploma
mills. I suggest you to earn a real degree. You should
be someone who lead others by example. So if I were
you I will enroll in a real PhD programme either local
or overseas university. If so I will remove you from
this hall of shame.

For Drop-outs from MBBS programmes, then you'd
better earn a MBBS and get a GP license to work as
a physician.

Happy New Year 2012 for my fake Drs and visitors.

"Who is smarter? You are!" - What made fakers fake?

To pay a tribute to shameless fakers? "No!". I am just making
fun of those smart asses who thinks they are too smart but I
also understand why they are faking. See an ad from such a
diploma mill:

'"Who is really smarter? You are the one called to the front of the
queue in airports; you are the one getting the free upgrade to first
class; you are the one sitting at the good table not too near the
band overlooking the river; you are the one dazzling your future
employers with your skills and abilities at an interview rather than
having your Resumé ditched by a computer programmed to scan
applications and send rejection slips to perfectly capable applicants
who happen not to have a degree; The benefits are endless."'

http://www.caslon.com.au/degreemillsnote.htm

Fake degrees from Indian and Pakistani universities!

The problem is that not even fake degrees from diploma mills,
but you could buy degrees from real universities where there
are corrupted officials who will issue degrees to any buyers.
Is it a fake? Yes, if you can buy the degree, then it is a fake.

'What makes them so unique is that the certificates are actually
issued by a real university. This is why attestation is also possible.'

'Fake degrees, but real certificates.

A thriving illegal racket in the subcontinent – specifically India
and Pakistan - has now spilt over into the UAE with all sorts of
educational qualifications up for sale.

For as little as Dh20,000 one can buy an MBA degree certificate
from India while, a graduate degree certificate will cost you only
Dh5,000.

A diploma in a computer course is in demand and therefore, sells
for Dh8,069.'

Like fake doctors, even doggies can earn fake MBAs!

A dog earns an MBA from Rochville University for $499 with
a printed diploma scroll with CGPA of 3.2/4.0 in a week time.

Unmuzzling Diploma Mills: Dog Earns M.B.A. Online

http://chronicle.com/blogs/wiredcampus/unmuzzling-diploma-mills-dog-earns-mba-online/8175

Then how to spot the quality of a MBA degree? It is simple,
check accreditation, the degree programme and the business
school (it is not graduate school but business school) should
be accredited with AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate
Schools of Business). Check whether the business school is
listed or not. Look up: http://www.aacsb.edu/accreditation/.

If it is ain't listed up there, then it is not gold standard, but
it is not necessarily crappy or diploma mill. There are other
similar good accreditation bodies like AMBA and EQUIS.
AACSB is originally for North American Business Schools,
AMBA (Association of MBAs) is for UK and it accredits
the degree not the business school like AACSB). EQUIS
is for accreditation body for continental European schools.
But nowadays, all those bodies accredit business schools
and MBA degree programmes around the world.

To learn more about AMBA see below and read the quotes:
'When a school applies for accreditation for its MBA programs,
AMBA requires that the entire portfolio of MBA programs be
put up for consideration and will award accreditation only if all
programs meet the organization's criteria (though the school
pays the same fee regardless of the number of programs being
reviewed).'
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Association_of_MBAs

AMBA accredits all degrees from school and individuals
who earns the degree while the AACSB accredits research
intensiveness of the faculty of the school. In other words,
an AACSB accredited business school may run, hopefully
not, a shitty MBA programme too. So if AACSB is Gold
Standard MBA, "AACSB + AMBA" is Platinum Standard.
And there are MBA programme those are triple accredited,
that means it is not only AACSB and AMBA but EQUIS
accredited or tripled accredited. It is like Graphite Standard.

Learn more about such triple accredited business schools:

Dr. Dr. Bamboo MD, Ph.D vs. Mr. Gandoo, MBBS

This blog has extended from exposing fake doctors with phoney
PhDs from diploma mills, an ex-PhD student with ABD status
who did not complete his thesis to clarifying why we should not
call "Dr." to a drop-out from MBBS degree programme.

I also explained why should we deny that title, a courtesy prefix,
"Dr." to those who earned MBBS degrees but who do not hold
valid licenses to practise clinical medicine, who are not working
as physicians treating patients.

Because MBBS is MB plus BS, it is an integrated dual bachelor
degrees without any thesis component. So without the doctoral
thesis, how one can call himself as a doctor.

In Germany, to earn a MD (Dr. med), a medical student has to
write a doctoral thesis.

An Overview of German MD/PhD Programs
By Anne Forde
October 10, 2003

To earn a PhD equivalent MD degree in Germany, the medical doctor
has to write a thesis.
http://sciencecareers.sciencemag.org/career_magazine/previous_issues/articles/2590/an_overview_of_german_md_phd_programs/

In US, even a chirotherapist can call himself a "Dr.", it is not the case in UK.
In United Kingdom, only Physicians are addressed as "Dr.", but not Surgeons
as the origin of Surgery is Butchery, that means early surgeons were butchers,
so no one called a butcher in the past as a Doctor, courtesy is not needed for
someone who will cut your limbs or balls. In continental Europe, both in Latin
(France, Italy, Spain, Greece) and Germanic (Germany, Netherlands, Austria,
and Scandinavia) nations, Dr. title is only for academic PhDs. So in Germany,
where someone who has earned two doctoral degrees (that means PhDs or its
equivalents) has to be addressed as Dr. Dr. Bamboo MD, PhD while a MBBS
medical doctor from UK will be addressed as Mr. Gandoo, MBBS.

More about university (Drop-Out) Ronald Aung Naing

'Excerpts from the “All Wars Are Dirty” by PHIL THORNTON

(Page 161, 162 and 163)

When I ran the journalism-training workshops on the border, I worked with either a Burmese or Karen translator, depending on the group. One of these translators was Aung Naing, the former Burmese student leader I had interviewed about NGOs. He was now a journalist, politically aware and with a sharp sense of humour. I particularly enjoyed working with him, and he had a very interesting history I was curious to find out more about.

Aung Naing had the face of a choirboy, and he dressed like the doctor he should have become: neat blue shirt tucked into charcoal trousers. His English was excellent. He laughed easily as he joked around the edges of the tragedy that was his life. He was a former chairman of the All-Burma Students’ Democratic Front [ABSDF) for northern Burma, and had played a central role in one of the biggest scandals to hit at the heart of the Burmese student army.

On February 12,1992, student soldiers executed fifteen of their comrades accused of spying for the regime. I wanted to interview Aung Naing about it, as he was one of the leaders who ordered the executions. It was a tough place to put him in, although he was surprised that no one had ever interviewed him about the incident before. He agreed, and we met in Mae Hong Son—where his group's classes were held—at the house of a Burmese doctor, where I was staying. Aung Naing judged it would be a long night as I placed my notebook and tape recorder on the table. He responded by getting a bottle of whiskey and a cooler of ice. He drank heavily as we talked. I let the tape recorder capture his testimony.

"In 1988 I was studying medicine in Mandalay. I was a student leader during the pro-democracy demonstrations. The regime accused me of illegal political activities, so in 19891 left Mandalay to join the northern ABSDF in the Kachin State, close to the Chinese "It was tough, most of us were city kids with no experience of living in the jungle. We built and lived in basic bamboo huts. The Kachin Independence Organization (KIO) supplied us with food, but it was difficult to survive, and many died. The Kachin didn't completely trust us, as we were Burmans. They gave us a region to make money from jade mining and tax. It was 8,000 feet high, rocky, and difficult to grow rice or crops. We depended on supplies "In the rainy season the Burmese army attacked our positions, destroying our stores. We went without rice and salt for ten days. We became weak and those who got malaria died. I lost many friends, some only eighteen years old. Each of us got fifty kyat a month to live on. We existed by trapping and eating monkeys, rats, and porcupines . . . anything.

"I was shocked to see people blown up and dead bodies. I had no battle experience, but I did fight. In 1990 we fought for forty days. I took command after our chief-of-staff was injured. We got weapons from the KIO and what we took from dead enemy soldiers.

"At this time I was elected general secretary. I was in charge of our underground network. We used it to recruit students inside Burma. We began to notice we were able to go back and forth through enemy lines without problems, but we found we had recruited  students who had family connections with Military Intelligence. Our numbers quickly grew to more than 800. We suspected our network had been infiltrated by MI. Reports from the front line indicated we were losing battles in suspicious circumstances. Our soldiers noticed knife marks had been cut in trees that could have led Burmese soldiers to our positions.

"We started to watch some people. We arrested four or five and, after interrogation, we had a small list. The list included members of our central committee. We found out the National Intelligence Bureau had trained some of these as spies, and others were just used as informers. I think some were motivated by ultra-nationalistic visions of a Burman master race.

"It was very difficult for us to know what to do. I panicked. We knew nothing about human rights, or, more to the point, we didn't understand. We asked the KIO to help us to interrogate. By now we had a list of eighty spies. We made videotapes in case no one believed us. We chained the spies and locked them in the barracks.

A Northern ABSDF central committee decided fifteen spies would be given the death penalty. We were at war, in armed struggle with the Burmese regime. Our constitution and law said we could give spies the death penalty. Many of our comrades had been killed because of these spies. Some members called for the death penalty for the entire eighty. We debated, argued, and finally agreed to fifteen. The sentences were determined by what the spies had done and how important they were to the [Burmese] military.”

Aung Naing was distressed by his memories and having to replay the events leading up to the executions. I upset him further when I asked him how the death sentences were carried out.

“Some of them were shot and some were beheaded. They were shot at close range by pistol by our officers. We thought the guns caused more suffering, so we thought if we switched to machetes it would be less. But they were not cleanly beheaded, even though the spinal cords were severed. I watched . . . it was done in front of all ABSDF soldiers.

“We would have liked to free all of them—but if we had, it would have sent a message that we welcomed spies. It was a hard decision to make, and before we made it we approached, through the KIO, Amnesty International and the ICRC [International Committee of the Red Cross]. We needed help; we wanted to hand the prisoners

164

over to them. They said they couldn’t do anything, as they could not reach us on the Burma-China border. “It was the hardest thing I’ve ever done. But we felt we had no choice. It was not uncommon for armed opposition groups in Burma to execute spies. The Burmese army just killed anyone they caught on the spot without a trial.”

Aung Naing left the room to throw up. He came back and swallowed hard before he continued. “When life is peaceful, it’s easy to draw moral lines, but in war it’s different. In the jungle the only way to conduct politics is with armed struggle. It was said that the killings were politically motivated, but nobody gained any political advantage. We had no internal splits, none of us gained anything. Before the executions we ate fish paste, and after the executions we ate fish paste. It could have been eighty instead of fifteen. It is understandable the families are upset. We asked the parents to come and talk with us.

The people who betrayed us were our friends. My friend, Htun Aung Kyaw [ABSDF chairman at the time], was executed. He was like my older brother. We were very close. He didn’t admit he was involved, but evidence showed that he was.

“The fighting was hard. War is a different reality. We were isolated and had no connection with human rights groups. We had no opportunity to learn about democracy or human rights. If we had, it may have been different. I believed I needed to take responsibility and resolve the problem. There should be an investigation like South Africa’s Truth Commission. People need to know what really happened. The problem will be to get MI to hand over their files...................'

Drop-out Ronald Aung Naing & Medical Doctor Naing Aung

I learned about ABSDF killing fields in Kachin state in late 80s
or early 1990s. Are they fakies? I mean Dr. with PhD bought
from diploma mills or self-styled Doctor too? I learned from
the blog of Dr. Ko Ko Gyi, a medical doctor, is that according
to journalist Phil Thornton's in "All wars are dirty", Ronald
Aung Naing is neither earned PhD nor MBBS doctor but a
drop-out from MBBS or BDS or BVS bachelor degree studies
from Burma. So no way he should be called Dr. Aung Naing,
instead he should be called Drop-out Aung Naing. The other
party, Naing Aung, who too called himself a Doctor should
not be called a Dr. Naing Aung if he is also a drop-out from
medical school. Or he can be called as Medical Doctor Naing
Aung like following blogger U Ko Ko Gyi, MBBS.

If Dr. Lunn Swe only blogs, he is Mr. Lunn Swe!

Checked Inbox but since I do not get any tips, I tried
to see blogs and found Dr. Lunn Swe blog. I wished
he is a fake doctor so that I can get another member
to my hall of shame. But it turned out to be a medical
doctor and not academic (PhD) doctor. MBBS degree
is a bachelor degree, it is a professional degree similar
to BDS, BVS, BCom, LLB or BE degrees but MBBS
is short form of two degrees as it is MB+BS bachelor
of medicine and bachelor of surgery. Physicians are
addressed as "Doctors" because he will treat you and
hope he can cure your illness, so to make him or her
feel better, you call them "Dr.". So the conclusion is
that Dr. Lunn Swe is not Dr. Lunn Swe but medical
Doctor Lunn Swe as he is a bachelor degree holder.
If he earned MBBS, if he is working as a physician,
he is allowed to be called himself as a Dr. as it is
permissible in British derived Burmese laws. But in
UK, a dentist (those with BDS) or vets (those with
BVS) are not allowed to call themselves as Doctors.
They have to address as Mister. And a person who
has earned MBBS but if he is working as a surgeon
(no physician) is not allowed to call himself as "Dr."
as only Physicians are allowed to use the term "Dr.".
That means the term Dr. is not earned because you
have earned a bachelor degree but you are addressed
as "Dr. Phin Khaung" because you are supposed to
treat and cure the patient.

In that regard, if Dr. Lun Swe only blogs and if he
were not practising as a physician, then he should be
called or addressed himself as "Mr. Lunn Swe, MBBS".

Dr. Khin Maung Lwin, FAME Pharma, Myanmar

Alternative Medicine is English version of Alternatica Medicina.
So Ph.D in Alternative Medicine is a fake PhD.

Source of Jpeg file is from Free Burma site below, I think it is
run by another fellow fake PhD, but I think he was an ABD
rather than who bought a mail order PhD degree like this lad.

http://freeburma.info/index.php/Dr._Khin_Maung_Lwin

See Dr. Khin Maung Lwin, PhD from Fame Pharma below.
I don't see his PhD in Alternative Medicine. However, since
he claims to earn a Dr. BA (which I assume DBA) after a
PhD, he is likely to be a fake doctor with a bought PhD
degree from a diploma mill as DBA is considered lower in
stature and prestige than PhD.

Dr. Daw Aye Aye Mar, Ph.D, Dublin Metropolitan University

Today I caught a fish, Dr. Daw Aye Aye Mar, who teaches at a
private school in Yangon is holding a PhD from a diploma mill.

I am not sure she is aware, but it is a fact that Dublin Metropolitan
University is not a recognized or real university in Ireland but just
an Irish company posing itself as a university in overseas, in other
words, it is a diploma mill, a PhD degree from a diploma mill means
I have no choice but to put her here. Following is her self declared
academic credentials:

Dr. Daw Aye Aye Mar,
Doctor of Philosophy in Foreign Direct Investment in Asia - Dublin
Metropolitan University, Ireland
Master of Science in Financial Management - Middlesex University, UK
Bachelor of Science (Honours) (Physics) - University of Yangon, Myanmar
Diploma in Business Administration - Association of Business Executives, UK
Diploma in Accounting - LCCI, UK
12 years of experience in management, finance and teaching

Source:

http://www.regent-myanmar.com/academy/faculty.php

See the news below for the fact that Dublin Metropolitan University,
Ireland is not a real Irish or British university.

'Irish firms face action

6 January 2006
John Walshe, Dublin

Steps are being taken to see if five Irish companies calling themselves
universities can be deregistered by the Companies Registration Office
in Dublin.

Discussions have taken place between the Department of Education and
Science and the CRO while officials review legislation to see if it can
be used to prevent unaccredited institutions from marketing themselves
abroad as universities.

The five are the Dublin Metropolitan University, Irish International
University of Europa (IIUE), European University of Ireland, Irish
University Business School and Warnborough University.

The vice-chancellor of Dublin Metropolitan University is Desmond Fleming,
who claims to be the 17th Baronet of Killan. But Hugh Prescott, one of
the editors of Burke's Peerage , said the title was not genuine.

The Irish International University of Europa has an elaborate website
and claims to be approved by the European Recognition Council of Ireland,
which has no standing in the academic community.

The Irish Embassy in Malaysia said the IIUE was sullying the name of
Irish education in that country.

The institution claims to have a bridging campus in Ireland called the
Dublin European Institute - which is the same name used by University
College Dublin for one of its centres. UCD solicitors have written to
the IIUE asking it to drop the name.

The DES is also investigating West Coast University, which claims to
be a virtual university with an office in Dublin.

It has also alerted several Irish institutions that the University of
New Castle has listed them as authorised agents. The university claims
to get its awards from the Accreditation Council for Higher Education,
based in the Pacific islands of Wallis and Futuna.'

A Real PhD dissertation for comparison vis-a-vis with?

I am trying to fish more fakes but no luck today even after spending
whole day. Found a genuine Burmese PhD. Her thesis title is below:

'Determinants of bacterial vaginosis in Yangon, Myanmar
by Lwin, Thandar, Ph.D., University of California, Los Angeles, 2006,
300 pages; AAT 3247435'

http://gradworks.umi.com/32/47/3247435.html

You can download it via ProQuest
http://proquest.umi.com/pqdlink?did=1260796801&Fmt=7&clientI d=79356&RQT=309&VName=PQD

Alternatively, you can download from university libraries. Just download
and see a PhD thesis below from the library of University of Michigan.

http://deepblue.lib.umich.edu/handle/2027.42/88169

Check and compare with a thesis below. Then judge yourself:

http://www.pyinnya.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/11/knowledge_controlandpower_thepoliticsofeducationunderburma_smilitarydictatorship1.pdf

Mind you, not all Adobe Acrobat files with pdf extension are PhD thesis.

I am really surprised to find out that this blog is visited

Has my leader Aung San Su Kyi earned PhD from SOAS?

This blog has lost focus as I cannot find more fake PhD Burmese
and so I am slowly turning it into a generic blog, it is my blog and
I can write whatever I want.

I got a question whether Daw Su has earned a PhD. I have learned
that she came back to Burma for us while she was researching and
completing her thesis at SOAS, University of London. SOAS@UoL,
is where 2 young Burmese literature scholars who are working for
BBC Burmese section have earned their advanced degrees. I tried
to find out some information. Below is quoted from the "Mizzima":

'PhD Burmese Literature School of Oriental and African Studies (1985)'

Reference: http://www.mizzima.com/political-pro/opposition/aung-san-suu-kyi.html

I double checked with the SOAS Alumni site and quoted as follows:
'Aung San Suu Kyi was a SOAS student studying for an MPhil in
Burmese Literature in 1988 when she was called home suddenly
to care for her seriously ill mother.'
Reference: http://www.soasalumni.org/page.aspx?pid=670

But I do not think Daw Su needs a PhD (permanent head damage) as
she has wisdom unmatched by rogue two bits with 3 letter word "PhD"
and two letters prefix "Dr". So I will make a tentative conclusion that
she has earned a M.Phil degree before conferred with honorary PhDs.

Dr. Habib Siddiqui, a Chittagonian from Bangladesh!

A 2 bits commentor suggested to find out about Dr. Aye Chan's Ph.D.
While I have no doubts that our revered Rakhine history scholar Sara
U Aye Chan holds a PhD. But searching Professor Dr. Aye Chan from
Kandar university found another Burmese or loyal Bangladeshi who is
keeping a web journal at the following blog.

http://drhabibsiddiqui.blogspot.com/

An old message in Yahoo group gives 'a brief Bio-data of Dr.Habib
Siddiqui (Ph.D)', introduced by 'Mohamad Yusof MM (aka)Maung
Sein, Chief Coordinator, MORUG Coordinating Council, USA(HQ),
MORGU means MOVEMENT OF GREATER ROHINGYA UNITY
(MORUG) USA-(HQ),NEW YORK CITY as follows:
'I would like to post a brief Bio-data of our most respected brother
Dr.Habib Siddiqui(Ph.D) who has kindly accepted our invitation to be
an active part of MORUG-ICRBR activities and the conference.

Academic Background:
Dr. Habib Siddiqui is an alumnus of the prestigious University of
Southern California, Los Angeles, where he earned his Ph.D. He is
[the] author of several research papers.'
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/APUF/message/1269

However, see his comments below in the eBangladesh web site:

'What any concerned Bangladeshi or an [Bangladeshi] expatriate can do
is to compare the above PSC with those made by other such authorizing
companies (e.g., Petronus) elsewhere and disclose any flaws or gaping
holes in ours to better redress such issues. In this age of information
highway, the Internet allows us to compare such matters rather quickly.
Bottom line: as I have pointed out in my interview with the Energy &
Power recently, Bangladesh cannot afford to be oblivious of its natural
resources that are already pirated and robbed by foreign countries like
India and <sic> Burma <sic>. Inaction on exploration does a greater harm
than even a flawed agreement, if any. Because by the time we develop our
own skills to either extract on our own or reach a 100% consensus, all
that is ours may already have been stolen by our neighbors. Mind that
many reservoirs are trans-national and interconnected. So, even if we
were not to drill on our sides, a neighbor can suck ours from its side
because of the nature of the reservoir.

(Dr. Siddiqui has a PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of
Southern California, Los Angeles, and his PhD thesis involved the subject
of enhanced oil recovery in disordered porous media.)'

Now you know who he is. He is against our interests and worry for others.
But what is interesting is that he inherited and lost his paternal properties to
- I wonder how come his ancestors owned about 90 crores (900 Million
Bangladesh Takas, that is about 120 million US Dollars) - land-grabbers
bossed by a politician (according to Shabbir Ahmed, Dr. Habib Siddiqui
did not even mention the name of the politician) and that inherited real
estate is in Chittagong. The article below reveals some other interesting
characters of "Dr. Habib Siddiqui" who tried to encourage Bangladesh
to act tough towards Burma (see the link above). From that article:

'In fact, he wrote voluminous articles to counter the criticism of the
liberal-freethinking writers against the fundamentalist goons of BNP
and Jamaat-I-Islami....
But the killing of a Hindu priest was "a big fuss" to Mr. Siddique as
he wrote....
He also tried to divert the attention of the conscious people by finger
-pointing many other incidences against Muslims in other parts of the
world especially in India.'

Incongruity in Habib Siddiqui is a cause for concern,

So while this Dr. Habib Siddiqui is unlikely to be a Burmese, he is
more likely to be a Chittagonian from Bangladesh, since he incited
aggression towards beloved "Myanma Pyi". I am exposing him in
"Hall of Shame" together with some Burmese fake PhDs.

Lacking a 3 letter word will not make you... but faking...

Having two tiny balls with the size of tiny grapes will not make ones
superior or more perfect human beings than others who lack those.
Remember the movie, "The Lord of the Ring, The Return of the King",
in last episode, the devil threatened to his opponent in battlefield, she
replied "I am a woman" and cut off the hand. Nowadays women are
flying planes and helicoptors, serving in armours, etc.. Think about
it and swallow your pride. I may have balls or I may lack them, I may
have balls the size of coconuts or tiny grapes (like you do) but private
area between my legs is not your business.

Likewise, having doctorates nor lacking pedigrees do not make men
better than other men or women. However, faking is to be ridiculed
and shamed. This is for fakers and who rushed forward to protect
their "step father" who asked them to sit on his lap with their butts
naked.

Seeking and stating truths ain't no smear campaign!

Seeking and stating hard evidence is not a smear campaign
against anyone even if it may hurt someone that is casualty.
I do not see it is not ethical! If he has it then prove it with
hard evidence and I will duely delete Mr. Zarni, Dr. Zarni
(let's give him benefits of doubt) from this "Hall of Shame".

Prof. Dr.Thet Pan to Dr.Htun Lin, Astrology

Found more self-styled PhDs and one has one more self-styled
credential, self-appointment as a professor. See the clip below.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0OjLig71Lh8

Caption is more revealing.

'The 5th Astrology Certificate Awarding Ceremony from International
University of Astrological Science (A.R.P) (Kolkata, India) (1.3.2011).
This video is about Ph.D Astrology Award given by Sayathet @ Prof.
Dr.Thet Pan to Dr.Htun Lin at I.B.C Hall in Yangon, Myamar.'

But you cannot earn degree from anyone nor any organization with
a p.o. box, a paypal account tied email and a web site. In India, for
an organization to confer degrees, it must have earned the right to
grant degrees from University Grant Commission (UGC) approval.
Self-styled university below might not have such degree granting
rights though. Quoted below:

'Viswa Jyotish Vidyapith

When genuine Doctors fail to address degrees properly!

When the web sites of higher education are to be designed,
for it is the online facade for the institution to outer world,
extra care should be taken. Public universities in Myanmar
are well regarded and they are subsidized by the state and
they offer adequate education for free. They have been on
the path of transforming into research intensive universities
from teaching only universities. However, there are rooms
to improve. Following is an example. Professor Daw Khin
San Yee is whom I respect well. But her employer web site
wrongly address her credentials as below:

'Dr. Khin San Yee
B.Com (A.A), M.Com, DAC, Ph.D (Germany)
Pro-Rector of Yangon Institute of Economics
MBA Programme Director'
http://www.mba-mm.com/res/about/faculty1.html

Germany has strict rules for PhD. If someone has earned
double PhDs, the proper way to write his name will be
"Dr. Dr. XYZ".  For a professor who has earned a PhD,
then the proper way to write her degree in an academic
environment in Germany will be "Professor Dr. XYZ".
In Germany, Austria, and also in the Netherlands (they
are Germanic countries), only PhDs can use Dr. prefix.

So it should be as follows:

'Professor Dr. Khin San Yee,
B.Com (A.A), M.Com, DAC, Ph.D (Goettingen),
The pro-Rector of Yangon Institute of Economics,
MBA Programme Director.'

As you may notice I am trying to ramp up my blog as
I will later try to publish in local media.

Wanna be "ပေရာ္ဖက္ဆာေဒါက္တာဆိတ္ဖြား" for 1500$?

Do you want to be called as "ပေရာ္ဖက္ဆာေဒါက္တာဆိတ္ဖြား"
by spending 1500 bucks? Then possibly be honored by this
blogger in this "Hall of Shame"? Then read the article below:

'Psst. Wanna Buy a Ph.D.?

By THOMAS BARTLETT and SCOTT SMALLWOOD

It was a revelation rich in irony: A member of a college accreditation
board holds a Ph.D. from a "university" that sells doctorates to anyone
with $1,500. This year The Chronicle reported that Michael Davis, a
member of the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools,
received his doctorate from Saint Regis University, which claims recognition
from the government of war-torn Liberia and requires little, if any, academic
work. He has since been booted from the board.

Most people in higher education probably dismissed the news as a laughable
aberration. Regrettable and embarrassing, but nothing more.

It turns out there are plenty of others like Mr. Davis, at all levels of higher
education: A wrestling coach in Wisconsin. A librarian in Texas. An assistant
dean at a Baptist university. Not to mention dozens of professors who hold
degrees from unaccredited colleges, some of which require nothing more
than a credit-card number and a mailing address.' read more below:

Stephen Thein, Ph.D., Pacific Research Network

I am not sure I should put this guy as he is not residing in Burma.
Got another tip from a Burmese living in California about a fake
Burmese PhD who has bought his PhD from a diploma mill. See:

'STEPHEN G. THEIN, Ph.D.
EDUCATION
1974 Ph.D: Professional Psychology, United States International University
1972 MA: Human Behavior, United States International University
1971 BA: California Western University'
[Source:http://www.prnsd.com/CVs/Thein.pdf]

But "United States International University" and "California Western
University" are diploma mills. Another statement in curriculum vitae,
he claims to be the first author of an academic research paper titled
"Galantamine in AD A 6-month randomized, placebo-controlled trial
with a 6-month extension" but the author list does not include Thein.
The quotation below shows actual author list which does not include
any Stephen nor Thein:

"M.A. Raskind, MD, E.R. Peskind, MD, T. Wessel, MD, W. Yuan, PhD
and the Galantamine USA- Study Group*"

(Phoney) Dr. Tin Latt, Management & Accountancy Training

When I started this blog, I did not expect to find more than 3 fakers. But now I got another
fish. This time, phoney PhD is Mister Tin Latt who calls himself Dr. Tin Latt. He wrote his
own biography as follows:

'Dr Tin Latt holds a PhD and a Masters in Business Administration from Ansted University,
British Virgin Islands and a Bachelor of Commerce from the Institute of Economics in Yangon,
Myanmar.'

If you see BVI, which is an abbreviation for British Virgin Islands, then you know it ought to
be a diploma mill. An online discussion about how easy it is to set up an organization in BVI [2].

'"Hi Johann, your are right. It's just a SALES GIMMICK -Ansted hands out stuff to largely unsuspecting people at good schools (who should know better, i.m.o), to get good P.R. that connects their worthless
name positively with these schools!

If the head of schools or recipients of so-called Social Responsibility International Awards found out what kind of outfit Ansted is.... they will definately shy away.

Do Ansted has the DEGREE GRANTING authority?
Ansted is incorporated in the British Virgin Island and BVI do NOT have the degree granting authority.

Any Tom. Dick and Harry can incorporate a so-called University for a fee of US$1,275. Please visit http://www.bvi-corporations-ibc-inco...prices_in_usd/. That is the reason WHY BVI is famous for DIPLOMA MILLS.'

And the following is quoted from his school, MAT's web site reproduced below [3]:

'Personal Profile of Dr. Tin Latt -B.Com, CPA, ACCA, ACMA, MBA, DBA ( UK)
(Managing Director of Management & Accountancy Training Limited)....
He was awarded Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree in 1997 and Doctor of
Business Administration (DBA) degree in year 2000 from Ansted University – (British Virgin
Island – UK). '

Therefore it can be concluded that he has bought not a Ph.D but MBA and DBA.

Why should we care about phonies or fake PhDs?

We should care and we should expose them not only because
it is a breach of trust, an insult to our intelligence. If we do not
expose them, we are showing the whole world that not only we
lack courage and competence to question the authority but we
are telling the whole worlds that we are fools. And once this
trend set root, we will see all crooks, from real estate agents,
tuition teachers, private school principals and businessmen will
start paying about 6000 dollars to con-men to get a piece of
paper that is worthless. So we need to stop this trend and we
need to expose those fakers and forgers who want to lie to us.

What is an ABD? Can they use the prefix "Dr".?

ABD stands for All But Dissertation. That means a PhD candidate who has
completed the coursework requirements for PhD but who has not completed
thesis component. Since PhD dissertation, it is called PhD thesis counts 50%,
an ABD is only 50% PhD. An ABD is still in the pipeline and she cannot call
herself "Dr. X", she is still "Ms. X". So the ABD status is not equal to a PhD
as she may still end up without a PhD. If an ABD claims he or she has earned
a PhD then that is not an innocent mistake but a serious breach, that will tell
the integrity of a man. Some graduate schools may offer Master of Philosophy
to a PhD candidate whose work which is reported in the PhD thesis is not up
to the work of a PhD. But ABD is not a PhD.

See the Wikipedia entry below for the definition of ABD status:

Diploma mill degrees accredited by accreditation mills

There are some fools who still claim that the university from where they bought
fake pedigree papers is accredited by an accreditation body such as "Accrediting
Commission International (ACI)".

The first question to be asked is whether "The accreditation is from another mill"?
Not all degrees from unaccredited programs are diploma mills and there are real
universities which run accredited bachelor degree programs also run unaccredited
professional degree programs. But here we are not talking about those lesser than
gold standard degrees but we are talking about real phony degrees, degrees from
lowest of the lowlife criminal con-men and fools who paid thousands of dollars to
fool others thinking that all of their countrymen can be fooled. I set up this weblog
to expose such Burmese and Foreign nationals who try to con us, Burmese people.
See below reproduced Fact Sheet for definitions of diploma mills and accreditation
mills.

'DIPLOMA MILLS
If the answers to many of these questions are “yes,” the operation under consideration
may be a “mill”:
• Can degrees be purchased?
• Is there a claim of accreditation when there is no evidence of this status?
• Is there a claim of accreditation from a questionable accrediting organization?
• Does the operation lack state or federal licensure or authority to operate?
• Is little if any attendance required of students?
• Are few assignments required for students to earn credits?
• Is a very short period of time required to earn a degree?
• Are degrees available based solely on experience or resume review?
• Are there few requirements for graduation?
• Does the operation charge very high fees as compared with average fees charged by
higher education institutions?
• Alternatively, is the fee so low that it does not appear to be related to the cost of
providing legitimate education?
• Does the operation fail to provide any information about a campus or business location
or address and relies, e.g., only on a post office box?
• Does the operation fail to provide a list of its faculty and their qualifications?
• Does the operation have a name similar to other well-known colleges and universities?
• Does the operation make claims in its publications for which there is no evidence?
ACCREDITATION MILLS
If the answers to many of these questions are “yes,” the operation under consideration may
be a “mill”:
• Does the operation allow accredited status to be purchased?
• Does the operation publish lists of institutions or programs they claim to have accredited
without institutions and programs knowing that they are listed or have been accredited?
• Are high fees for accreditation required as compared to average fees from accrediting
organizations?
• Does the operation claim that it is recognized (by, e.g., USDE or CHEA) when it is not?
• Are few if any standards for quality published by the operation?
• Is a very short period of time required to achieve accredited status?
• Are accreditation reviews routinely confined to submitting documents and do not include
site visits or interviews of key personnel by the accrediting organization?
• Is “permanent” accreditation granted without any requirement for subsequent periodic
review?
• Does the operation use organizational names similar to recognized accrediting
organizations?
• Does the operation make claims in its publications for which there is no evidence?'
