An excellent presentation that'd give you idea how to investigate diploma
mills and their clients, fake doctorate PhDs. This is the work of Professor
George Gollin from the department of Physics at the Univ of Illinois at UC.

Syrian Army who are trying to topple Dr. Assad, is fired for false PhD claims. However, the
Secretary of United States, his excellency John Kerry and senator John McCain thought she
was a real expert, a real PhD doctor. The Huffy Puffy reports below:

We welcome this self-styled Syrian expert to our hall of shame although she is not a Burmese

Your humble blogger wants you to know that even almighty Uncle Sam, formally known as

PhDs taught and mentored by a fake PhD?
The United States International University is a diploma mill for it is not accredited.
Therefore anyone who claims to hold a PhD from there is a fake. If that faker is in
the faculty of a PhD program then PhDs trained there are likely to be sub-par PhDs,
only a little better than a fake or worse for being copies of the fake.
Your humble blogger is talking about the faculty of the Assumption University in
Bangkok, Thailand. See the list of tutors and mentors for PhD in Organizational
Development (PhD.O.D) in the brochure below:
http://www.graduate.au.edu/download/content/file/general/Brochures/MBA/PhDMOD.pdf
Readers might wonder, why a Thai university's faculty and PhD program sparked the
interest of this very Burmese scholastic blog? Your humble blogger is interested in it
because that Assumption University is offering that PhD.O.D to Burmese in Burma.
Using inductive reasoning based on facts we have, it is not possible to assert that it is
a fake PhD program. But it is a sub-par program for the following reasons:
[1] Its entry requirement are too lax.
There is a common wisdom that says this, "garbage in garbage out", so if entry bars
are set too low, if there is no stringent requirements, the output will more likely to be
sub-par - and and sub-par product is only as good as fake.
[2] Its graduation requirements are not rigorous, check the graduation requirements
in general. Attending two conferences is one of the graduation requirements, and
that item alone should have raise the intellectual alarms in any seasoned scholar.
[3] Its process is not reflective of a reputable PhD program, meaning not impressive:
Earning a PhD is a process, not only the product, that is the thesis and research papers
in prestigious journals, but the process counts. A good PhD program can transform a
twenty something into a competent researcher, a balanced reasoner and a trust-worthy
reporter of results. That is what research is about. You started with a question and you
improvise methods and designs experiments to gather facts, based on facts, analysis
are made, inductive or deductive reasoning and conclusions are made and those are
written down into a thick book called thesis.
Why this blogger says so is because there are two grammatical errors in one single
sentence in the graduation requirements. See Item 5 to spot no less than 5 errors!!!
The conclusion is that it is a sub-par degree, good enough for a taught or research
Master degree from a university in Thailand. It may make honest faculty members
of PhD programs in more reputable Thai universities feel shame.

Fakers and forgers around the globe united!!!
To give some relief to my fellow Myanmar people who might think there are so many fakers
and forgers among us. Take it easy, not only Burmese, there are so many Liberians, Nigerians, Pakistanis, Malaysians, Chinese and Indians among scum bags. Even better, or worse depends
on your interpretation, there are scum masters in United States, UK and Canada. So Relax.
A Physics professor become an expert in exposing fraudsters. He offer tools for exposers:

The story below tells how he was swept into the world of fakers and forgers to combat them.
Your humble blogger wants to add one more category, there are fraudsters who earned PhDs
by sucking their academic fathers. That is by making an unethical, explicit or implicit, sleazy
arrangement with their supervisors or mentors to let their universities accept those plagarized
PhD dissertations. In such scenarios, cleaners like your humble blogger and brothers in arms
are faced with choice but to take down their scholar daddies even if they are giants. Sometimes
asses of giants can be put on the hot firing lines.
Fraud U: Toppling a Bogus-Diploma Empire
By David Wolman
Wired Jan 2010
'It started with spam. On a quiet August day in 2002, a physics professor named George Gollin
was working in his office at the University of Illinois when an ad popped up on his computer
screen. The product on offer: college degrees.
In a nearby computer lab, the ads leaped from one monitor to another, seeming to spread like
a contagion. The spam barrage was raging across the Urbana-Champaign campus. “They were sending
bazillions of them, for weeks,” Gollin recalls. “It was like a telemarketer calling over and over.”
He decided to dial the phone number listed in the ad to find out who was behind the electronic
assault.
No one answered, so Gollin left a polite message. A few days later he received a call from a
man, speaking with what sounded like an Eastern European accent, who delivered a pitch for various
degree options from Parkwood University. Gollin, who is 56 and has a BA from Harvard and a PhD
from Princeton, listened in amazement as the man cheerfully explained how, for about $4,400, he
could supply a PhD in systems engineering.
Or if that wasn’t to Gollin’s liking, he could offer a doctorate in Germanic languages. Gollin
chuckled and shook his head. It was all rather amusing, the academic equivalent of a bad toupee
— anyone who looked closely could see that it was a fake.
Still, Gollin’s curiosity was piqued, so he decided to look up Parkwood University online.
At first glance, the Web site resembled that of any liberal arts college, complete with links for information on student services, academics, and faculty. With some Googling, Gollin discovered
that the course catalog for Parkwood had been copied wholesale from the University of Central Florida’s Web site.' -- snip snip --
'But one phony institution — a front called Saint Regis University — had something even better:
the Liberian connection.......'

News about Fake PhDs reported in a Malaysian paper!!!!
Indian university suspected in fake PhDs scam: police
New Straits Time, Malaysia
SHILLONG, India: 'Police are investigating an Indian university suspected of issuing fake PhDs after it awarded more than 400 doctorates in a single year, officers said.
Police have arrested four senior officials from CMJ University in the northeastern state of Meghalaya on suspicion of fraud and forgery and are hunting for the chancellor, who has fled.
“We are not sure about his whereabouts, as he keeps changing his location frequently,” senior state police official Sunil Kumar Jain told AFP.
The private university, established in 2009 in the state capital Shillong, handed out 434 PhDs during the 2012-13 academic year despite its small faculty, arousing suspicions among local officials who filed a police complaint.
A PhD at CMJ University takes between two to five years and costs 127,000 rupees ($2,250), according to its website.
“In good faith, the universities were given permission to operate, but some seem to have taken this for a ride and this is distressing,” said Meghalaya Chief Minister Mukul Sangma.
Credentials fraud is a serious problem in India, fuelled by a huge demand for qualifications, endemic corruption and poor regulation of the ultra-competitive and fast-growing education sector.
In 2011 a racket in fake airline pilot licences was exposed, while in 2010 police arrested the head of the national body responsible for certifying medical qualifications for allegedly accepting a bribe.'
